About the Gulf Coast Tick

This tick is found primarily in the grasslands and prairies along the coast and waterways. Measuring approximately 5mm and reddish-brown in color with beige legs, they are active from February to September. There are documented cases of this tick transmitting diseases such as Rickettsiosis, Canine Hepatozoonosis, Leptospirosis, and can cause Tick Paralysis.
